I can't believe that it's less that three weeks to WCR. We have been super busy this year and here it is almost June. Shame, shame...Time to straighten out those priorities and get back in the saddle.

Anyone have special plans for the ride to Three Rivers? Anyone thinking about meeting places along the way or interesting routes? Anyone planning a nice and easy two day ride? What day is everyone hitting the road?

Sequoia Kings Canyon Nation Park here we come!

Dan,
Good to hear from you again. I think a lot of us are taking a round about way there, Need to catch a few more GT points. We will see as time grows near. You missed a really good ride this past weekend. Myself,Ken, Jeff, Ernie and Pauline zigzagged our way across Oregon and had a blast. I wouldn't exactly call it an easy ride though..... Spirited is more like it. I look foward to seeing you and Deb on the way or at least when we get there.

I may do something similar, Art. I need to get Canby and Lucerne. Not sure when I can leave yet though. All depends on how work goes over the next couple of weeks. If it goes really well, maybe I can do Bryce & Afton on the way back.

I'll know more as the time gets closer.

Art,

It's me, the LT and Debbie makes three. The coach and trailer will stay in the stable for this one.

We had planned on leaving on Wednesday so we are up for taking in the sights. The ride back will depend on how Debbie's knees fare on the way down. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Hi Mark. Several of us Nor Wetters are planning on heading down your way on Wed the 14th. Probably going to hit a Holiday Inn not too far from you if the plan goes the way we're leaning now.

Watch here for updates on the plans as time gets closer.

John (and others);

I was planning to invite the group to use my home as a rest area or stopping point Thursday evening/night, but my work scheduled changed this morning, I will not be flying home until Friday morning (early).

If you are coming through Roseville area (I80 & hwy65) friday morning, feel free to stop by. Since I will be flying home late, I will not be riding down until Friday around lunch.

DOH! Hey Mark, just realized that I was one day off on our trip plans! We will not be down in your area till the 15th. The 14th we will still be wandering around the great state of Oregon.

Sorry for the misleading msg. It was late!

Dan,

We are going to be leaving Saturday the 10th and getting some RCMC Grand Tour checkpoints on the way to and from WCR. Our route is to take an eastern Oregon jaunt on Saturday. Nevada on Sunday. Utah on Monday. Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday and California (WCR) on Thursday thru Sunday. We're taking Monday and Tuesday to get home and visiting family in Redding along the way.

The checkpoints will be (in order on this trip): Deschutes Crossing/Warm Springs,OR; Hampton, OR; Diamond, OR; Orovada, NV; Hawthorne, NV; Bryce, UT; Lucerne, CA; Canby, CA; Talent, OR.

We'll also be visiting 5 National Parks along the way on this trip: Bryce Canyon, Arches, Grand Canyon (north and south views) and Kings Canyon/Sequoia. We are hoping to cross paths with many riders coming to WCR along the way. We are set up with CB and FRS/GMRS for communication on this trip. Perhaps we should designate a call channel for those with communication?

See you on the road!

What, no Wyoming? :)

Sounds like a good trip. Are you trying to wear out the LT before trading it in? :D

We are saving Wyoming for the rest of the checkpoints in two installments in August and September. With 89k on the girl I think she is just about broke in.;) Don't you think?

I may still be up here in August / September. I want to get 100K on my LT before trading it in, maybe I can finish it this year. :)

Ernie,

Your itinerary sounds terrific!! We can't get away until Wednesday so we're a little jealous. We will have to get the scoop on your journey at Three Rivers. Have a great trip!

Well, three of the Bikes will be on the road tomorrow (Wed) morning! Art & Marcia, Dan & Debbie, and Marilyn & I are on our way! We will make it a leisurely 2 day ride down to Three Rivers and hit a few GT Checkpoints along the way.

See the rest of you all down there!
