A few days ago I was rear ended while sitting at a red light on my '87 K100RS. The pics show the resulting damage to the bike...I walked out of the Emergency room under my own steam (lucky). I am wondering if there is any tribal knowledge out there concerning hidden damage from an impact like this on a K bike. I think the load was shared by the tire/wheel and the frame; the frame appears unbent amazingly. The wheel is bent and I'm wondering if the aluminum castings, bearings, swingarm pivots or anything else commonly bends, crack or breaks in situations like this. If I end up keeping the bilke I will do a complete teardown but would like to know what to look for. Any and all info will be appreciated.

I would let the other drivers insurance company & your dealer work it out. A reputable dealer should be able to find all damage.
