I have never usd my CB so I'd like to remove the antenna. Rather than cut all the cable ties I'd prefer to remove the mount and just lay it under the top box platform. The problem is there isn't enough room uder there without disasembling the base of the mast assembly from the cast metal base. There's a set screw that looks like it locks the two pieces together but I still can't seem to separate the two parts. Rather than break something can someone offer a suggestion on how to take this section apart?Does it just pull apart or does it unscew?

I'm actually looking for a CB and antenna, so, if you want to get rid of any of it, please PM with details.

Thanks

I do have the CB and Antenna off the bike. Most of the wiring is still on the bike.

Last week, when I took off the antenna and mount, I had the rear top box and it's mount off, plenty of room back there to route the wire (after taping the end) for storage. Let me look tonight to see how it came apart. I pretty sure it unscrewed into two or three parts.

OK, here's what I found. I don't know if you've taken off the rubber or plastic cone at the base. Twist that cone counterclockwise about a half inch and then pull it up and out. Then that will expose the antenna base which will unscrew from the mount. Hope this helps.
