Muth Mirrors

I installed Muth Mirrors over two years ago. Today I'm riding along and the mirror portion fall out. Since it is connected by the electrical cable it is not damaged. After looking it over the problem seems to be this. There are 8 small tabs that hold the mirror in place (along with the double sided tape.). Two of these small tabs have broken off??? How I don't know. Question is how to fix it? The tabs seemed to be firmly fixed to the back of the mirror. Has anyone heard of this happening? Any suggestions?

A couple of them broke when i removed the Muth on my recently purchased 02 model to check for tethers but I don't know how old the mirrors are. Rather than buy a replacement mirror now, I opted to glue the mirror to the swivel mount with E6000 cement knowing that if i ever have to remove the mirror glassf I will have to break it.

The glue is a good idea but want to try out some other options before I do that. It all depends on how much problems I have. :) I just took some double sided tape and left the covering on one side ... stuck it to the two tabs that were broken. This helped but was not good enough so I took two more pieces and put them over two tabs that were not broken also. This seems to be ok (I think). I'm going for a long ride today so we will see. I may come back with it glued!!
