has anyone tried the metzler z6? cycle outfitters in Indy is suggesting these and say they have put many on k1200lt biked this year. I have read many of the posts about the me880 and bt020. I was about to go with the bt020 until I talked to them. I just thought I would ask the real experts before I decide.

I don't think you'll find one load rated for the LT.

The S, RS, GT maybe, not the LT.

If they are suggesting that, I wouldn't take their advice anymore.

I was a little curious because I haven't seen any mention of the z6 here. I did ask about the load rating though. They have a load range of B. 520lbs ft and 800 something rear. The bt020 has 520 ft and 963 rear. Best to keep with a proven model though. thanks for the input, kevin

While the Z6 front tire looks like it could be used, the Z6 rear tire does not have a high enough load rating for the LT.

Load rating for the tires on the LT are in the "C" range. According to my favorite tech at South Sound out here.

I think he might be confused with passenger car tires.. M/C tires are rated for load by a numeric value.. the rear is 79V for the LT.. I am assuming that the 'V' has something to do with the speed rating but there is a separate speed rating..

Greetings Richard.

I just fitted an older front Z4 on my LT. I got the tyre for less that $170 as it was a "run out" model. I can 't believe how good the tyre feels on the front of the LT. I tend to fit softer compound tyres on the front as I see it as cheap insurance. Now if I can find a matching rear, I'll be delighted!

Kindest regards to all.

Hi Richard from Aus,
Back in April you indicated that you had done around 1000 klm on a Z6. Given that several months and no doubt quite a few klms have lapsed, what is your opinion now of the Z6.. :bmw:
