I'm toying with the idea of making a proposal to the City of Cincinnati about offering a location where motorcycles park for free. Of course I have selfish motives... however I think there are many advantages to the City. (i.e., less cars, pollution, congestion.... biker friendly downtown... etc.)
Many of the pay garages here have banned motorcycles because of the sensor gates. Apparently the problem is the gates are not designed to detect smaller cycles and they have been plucking riders off as they pass through. Not a big problem for my half ton LT, but no motorcycles, nonetheless.
Usually I park at meters between other cars. This is scary for me because I think many parallel parkers end up bumping their way into slots and that could be disastrous to my bike. Then the other day I, along with a car, get a ticket when the meter expired.
So my question is... does anyone have any experience, ideas, suggestions, etc. about making the pitch to the City here. Maybe if I found another city's biker friendly policy it could help. Thanx for any ideas or discussion....
