My friend just bought a Kawasaki ZZR600. Awesome bike, but no centerstand...argh! There's about a million options out there. Any advice?

Same ol' story . . . we're looking for an affordable product, coupled with quality. Yea right!

Thanks!

Ah, I see the 'yea, right' now - but, this is what I know of:

Now, find a friend with a welder, some stock and some time - go for a home brew, eh?

Milk Crate comes to mind. One of the old timey wire ones. The new plastic models don't seem to hold up.

Joe,
I am guessing you are looking for something to do service, etc in the garage. If so this is my recommendation--Lockhart Phillips Race Swingarm Stand.

I am sure that a competent welder could fab one or you could find a less expensive one. I have found that Lockhart's product is well made and pretty adjustable. I sold mine w/ my last bike so I cannot tell you measurements but as long as you have a swingarm w/ two sides this should work for you.

They also offer a front tire stand.

These guys have a few examples:

That only works for dirt and dual sports with high pipes.

I have a suggestion.
Get rid of it.

I owned a 2000 VFR 800 for 5 years.
Loved it.
Had great time with it.
Bought all sorts of extra goodies for it.
The only thing i didnt buy or it was goldvalves for the forks and the 840cc overbore kit or steering damper.
But had everything else, C/F Pipe, Power Commander, Dyno'd, Decals, Polished & Etched Wheels, Polished & Etched forks, Polished & Etched Triple Clamp, Polished & Etched Swingarm, Polished Brake/Clutch Levers, Polished Footpegs & Holders, C/F Heat Shield, C/F Petrol Cap Cover, C/F Indicator Covers, C/F Triple Clamp Cover, C/F Rear Hugger, 15 Carat Gold Plated Wheel Nuts, plus a heap more.

I loved the sound of the gear driven V4, sounds like a small block Chev, and the whistle from the gear driven cams is just music to the ears....

Yep, had some great times on that motorcycle, loved it to pieces...

A lot of fun to ride as well.
