OK, I have searched and read the manual and read the Tech manual(which I don't think is for an 05). The bikes manual says turn it all the way counterclockwise and load the bike and it will adjust itself? HUH??? The tech manual on cdrom shows another adjustment other than the big knob on the right side of the dash, but doesn't tell me where the other adjustment is. Anyone know the correct procedure for adjusting the headlight on an 05 LT.

Your bike must have some special equpment...I have not found any automatic level adjustment in mine.
The big knob is for adjusting the low beam. If the adjustment range is not enough, there is a possibility to extend (or change) it by adjusting the adjuster cable length. (Hard to reach without he nose cone to be removed, though.)
The high beam is adjusted from a white bolt-looking knob located on the right side of the lamp itself.
As far as the correct adjustment level is concerned, I'm sure there is a common rule on what height the low beam horizontal line should be at a given distance. I just don't remember it now, but maybe some expert chimes in...

Anyone know the correct procedure for adjusting the headlight on an 05 LT.The '05 headlight is not self-adjusting. For the low beam, there is a fine adjustment (the knob on the dash) and a gross adjustment (on the rider's right side of the back of the headlight housing). The gross adjustment is a vertically-oriented thumb screw at the base of the headlight adjustment cable. The basic adjustment procedure is to sit on the bike at the rear suspension/load setting you'll be driving with, and adjust the knob to the desired height (the manual has the "official" aim height, but I aim it just below the side view mirrors of the cars in front of me). If there's not enough adjustment range, the gross adjustment is rotated to provide more. The '05 high beam has a separate, horizontally-oriented adjustment thumb screw at the rider's right side of the high beam housing.
