Well,
I guess I am the first to post. Just got home about an hour ago.
It was really fun.
The Ladies were comparing the sizes of their hairdryers (????)
The other three pics happened to my new metzler.
We went round bandalier, and Jemez springs, then back towards Taos.
Comng up the 4 lane, we were doing 80 in the curves and about 100 in the straights. (I know too fast !!) But my guardian angel was looking out for me.
We stopped at the first gas station in Taos, and Deb and Dean were like..
You need to check your tire, you have a bolt in it.
I was like, no problem, I have plugs and a compressor.
So after filling with gas, I put the bike by the store, put it on the center stand, and the pics show what I found !!!
Didn't loose air, thank God !!
We babied it to a nearby honda/yamaha shop, and had them check around for a tire. (K1200LT Right...). Called Santa Fe, But wouldn't be able to get it to Taos on Friday.
Rich let me ride "Bitch" back to Red River.
Part of his pillion instructions were "Don't grab my balls !!"
(Like that was gonna happen, but he caught shit for it that night)
Deb and Dean escorted the handsome two some in stop and go traffic through Taos, right by tons of Harley Riders . That was awkward !
Once At RedRiver, Ken had a trailer and took me Saturday morning to get my bike, take it to Santa Fe, and Sweet talked the mechanic into puttin on a new metzler rear.
So...Alls well that ends well.
Check them tires at gas stops too, not just at the first of the day !!!
Here are the pics

Sounds like you all had a good time!
Interesting pics. You know what they say about the size of a woman's hair dryer.... (no, neither do I).
Amazing that your tire didn't blow with that piece of hardware in it!

I hope everyone that made it to Red River had as good a time as Sherry and I did. The riding in this area has to be some of the best anywhere. This gathering is always one of the best. Many thanks to Rango and Cheryl for the wonderful Burgers on Friday Night and to Ken & Diane for the BBQ on Saturday night. They went way above and beyond the call of duty to see that everyone had a great time. Looking forward to next year already.

Many thanks to Rango and all who helped put this together. I believe a great time was had by all. Even James who got a REAL New Mexico souvenir in his tire.
Jeffe, you ought to make some notes for everyone about the good roads in N.M. Your take on 104 was right on, although I didn't set the cruise on 110; due to the sorry state of my front Avon, the most I could do was 107.
Grif, you were there in spirit once again! When are you gonna git some royalties on this?

Even though these start from Santa Fe, here are the riding routes from CCR 2002.

Most of the great roads we took this weekend are on these maps.

I must second the kudos for all involved with putting together a fine gathering. Rango's burgers were great (good thing I love onions....) and Ken and Dianne's brisket was up to TX standards (that's a good thing, Ken.)
I was dawdling along (at about 75) on 1061 outside Amarillo, lost in the great memories of cool riding and dreading the next 600 miles or so of hot riding, when I caught a glimpse in my mirror of a high speed convoy coming up on me. I tried to get out of the way but they blew by me at warp speed and sucked me into the last spot. Helped me make some good time up until we split up at Amarillo and I turned south. 790 miles from RR to Lakehills.
Nice to meet so many of the good folks from the forum and to ride the great NM mountains. May need to do it again next year.

Glad we could be of help Russ! You had that LT wound up when Ruth (blue Triumph) and I (black RS) passed you on that straightaway!
Bonsai was in the lead and the prediction at that time was to get in to Fort Worth a little past Happy Hour! I was sitting at home (620 miles) in less than 10 hours which included lunch and several gas stops for a small gas tank and less fuel efficient RS.

Hmmm, we found bullet holes in our bikes too....... It was a great weekend! Awesome food, awesome company, lots of fun teasing Rich about his sexual orientation - not that there's anything wrong with that! So glad everyone made it home safe and sound. Hope to see you all again real soon!

David,
I felt bad in retrospect about winding up the LT as you and Ruth were passing but I got caught up in the spirit of the chase! But it only registered 101 on the GPS...not all that fast!
