My local dealer here in San Diego provides service loaners, usually 650 CS, CF. I have gotten a Rockster once before also. Well today they loaned me the K1200R....one question: what are the other four gears for? Toying with taking the afternoon off for a run up the south grade at Palomar....:D

Isn't that odd. My dealer just told me that BMW no longer has a loaner program for when you leave your bike for service.

That is a dealer controlled issue, not BMW. One of the San Deigo area dealers always has had loaners for major services, the other one did not for some time, finally added the insurance and got a couple bikes for loaners. It had nothing to do with BMW.

My local dealer here in San Diego provides service loaners, Well today they loaned me the K1200R....:D NICE!! Is that North County? I had mine in for a 6K and they gave me a K100RT .. that was different! I guess this is a problem when your only bike has been an '05LT. Learned about vibration, brake squeal, wind blast, and what's up with this manual center stand stuff? Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the loaner and I had a blast on it. If I wasn't up for change, I never would have gotten on a bike in the first place. Not much value add to your thread, just wanted to add my comment. Thanks,

Just make sure you BRAKE when you see the bright, white LIGHT! :eek:I thought you weren't supposed to brake until just after you passed the bright, white light. That way, you know you're in the lead! :D

However, BMW will try to give them old stuff still in the warehouse that never sold for the loaner program. Some dealers have a variety, some CS's, and some will be getting 1200C's and Roxters that are 04's. And some stick-in-the-muds will just shut down their loaner program.
