Was flicking through a guide book for Norway yesterday and saw a trip right up to the very North of Norway up to the border with Russia. Has anyone any experience of this area? Would the roads ber suitable for an LT (two up) or are they more like GS territory? Thinkng about getting as far away from the World Cup as possible this summer. Am I the only one in England who can't stand football?

I couldn't even tell you when the World Cup starts, but need to know so I too can avoid it! Of course, they do know about it in Norway.
A couple of years ago I did a little tour of Norway with a mate but we stayed in the South and did quite small mileages each day. The roads and scenery were brilliant. You will have no trouble with the LT. Thing is, on the boat going out there was a small group of sports bike riders who were intent on getting to North Cape. They reappeared on the same return sailing looking a bit ragged. They had seen rain most days (September) and picked up more than one speeding fine. We had no rain and some fantastic riding. One word of warning though, it's true what they say about the beer. If you like a drink, it will be an expensive trip.
