I am in Ireland on business. I wasn't able to rent a bike so I have a cage for the weekend. I went to the NW, Co Donegal, and about 3pm today I was looking for a pub to watch the FA Cup (we wuz robbed! Penalty shootouts suck bigtime). I was zooming down past the Blue Stack Mts (ain't they gorgeous) just north of the town of Donegal when I see heading towards me a swarm of bikes - it was a veritable flight wing of about 50+ bikes letting rip, overtaking traffic enmasse....now get this....

1. Virtually all BMW's;
2. Sheparded by two cycle cops, one in the lead, one about midway back.
3. Travelling fast, heading north on the N15 for Ballybofey and, I guess, Letterkenny or Londonderry.
4. Trailed by a cop chase van....and a "BMW Club of xxxxx" chase van! I didn't get whether it was Republic or Northern Ireland.
5. ....and amongst this lot were at least 2 LT's. I know we have one member there, they must have sold 2 in Ireland!

I must try harder to find a rental place for my next trip in June. There is a very high density of bikes in Ireland, the Republic at least.

Organised by the BMW members in Cork for M.S. charity. This is the 2nd year we have done this and last year we raised over 25,000 euro

Thanks CC. That explains the heavy police presence. Looks like youse were all having fun. I'd rather have been ridin'.
