Finished the first official RAT. Rode from Texarkana clockwise around Texas.
What a trip! From high humidity and temp at South Padre Island to the low humidity and wonderful weather of Big Bend park. Has anyone ever heard of Texline, TX?

When I reached Big Bend, I was not at all sure that I could complete the ride in less than the 85 hours. But finished in about 80 hours.

Bike perfomed flawlessly. Except now the fuel filler cover will not latch. I guess that is a warranty fix.

I am writing this from the hotel in Texarkana--still excited and quite proud of myself. I only have 16,000 miles on the bike.

The trip even had a boat ride! Also a little gravel at a road construction site.

Spray the female part of the latch throughly with WD40. I bet that will solve the problem. Worked for me.

Mine did the exact same thing and WD40 took care of it! Congrats on the RAT. We are also hoping to hear from Bruce Harris and Fletcher Clark who also did the ride.

Congrats on whupp'n the RAT!

And someone once said: "You only need two things to fix a motorcycle: duct tape and WD 40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use WD 40." Words to live by!
