I don't how far "northeast" is, but I live in Ohio and I want to sponsor a Tech Sesssion at my place. It's about an hour SE of Columbus.

I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to organize one of these. I would be more than happy to host one but would need a tech for it. Maybe later on in the summer we could put something together.

'Roadkingedout' wants me to install an HID and MotoLights at your place. Sounds like fun...and that only takes less than two hours. I could always change the fluids in my bike...albeit prematurely. That never hurts anything.
Or, are we really trying to find someone who needs their valves checked?

Looks like the CT contingent is well represented. Wish there was one in central NY. I'd be interested in lending some talents for ole' time story tellin and some wrench turnin. Could travel to CT, MA, NJ, NH and of course PA.

Or, are we really trying to find someone who needs their valves checked?Hey Joe,
I don't know about valves, but at 8400 (today) I'm between the 6k and 12k service. By the time we scheduled and had a tech session I'm sure I could use an oil change or maybe even the 12k service.
My goals in hosting a tech session are:
1. Meet area LT owners. From Ohio, I've met you (Cleveland) and Mark Kinney (Dayton). Others are out there!
2. Provide a place for others to get some work done.
3. Show off my wife's catering skills!
4. Maybe get a HID install on my LT.
A pic of our detached garage is attached. 30x40, with 4 overhead doors; 20x52 concrete porch, with half of that under roof.
And we don't have to wait for an official tech session to use the place! Tell Roadkinged out to come on up/down/over (wherever he is -- PA?); you guys can use the place.

Starting to look like we might be getting 2 groups together, with enough advance notice, some may choose both.
I'm in for the Ohio trip, let me know when, will bring cameras.

RockCool.
And if I end up hosting one, you better bring your appetite!
Also: plenty of space for tent camping if anyone is so inclined. Very rural area; you'll be lulled to sleep by the tree frogs and crickets, and awakened by wild turkeys! (the feathered kind, not the bottled kind)
I should go over to the Midwest forum and post this info...

Did y'all miss my post completely!!! Mark Neblett is coming over to my house in No. Virginia today to work on the valves and some other stuff on my bike. There's a few others from around that had expressed interest in stopping over.
This might be a very late call to others in this region, but y'all are welcome.
I live http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Thistleberry+Ct.,+Oak+Hill,+VA+20171&om=1 . Look for all the bikes in the cul-de-sac.

The Midwest tech session we are discussion hasn't been declared official yet (it's about too...), so no worries -- no conflicts there.
Hope you all have a great time today.

Glen from Litchfield, I would love to take the ride down to meet you and some of the other Ohio/midwest guys/gals. Only 2111 miles right now so I guess I would be just watching. Knowledge is power!!!
Keep us informed if you get a date/time.

What is that ? A VW convention?Yep. My car is a VW Passat with the TDI (diesel) engine. I hosted what they call a "GTG" (Get ToGether) last fall at my place. We had 26 TDIs there (Golfs, Jettas, Beetles, and Passats). Lots of work got done with 4 overheard doors.

Doc does not know I even own a bike,as to how I did it (didn't want to say here, didn't want to scare anyone into thinking it could happen to them) ...picking up the LT in my driveway-I think.
I can not think of anything else and went undiagnosed for about a month till I got an MRI. picked her up and rode away-have had a fusion B4 thought I aggrevated it, but pain continued so I saw doc. MRI revealed new bones affected my kids think I am superman getting around w/a "broken back".

Hi Howard,
I'd love to join in (if schedule works out!)
I do my own maintenance, have accomplished valves, tank removal, all fluids, installed AutoCom, HID.com low beam, XM, Logjam, Garmin, BMR, on-board compressor, PIAAs in the cowl, etc.
It would be great if someone with experience of the next magnitude
could join the group. With experience in Slave Cylinder, shocks and Final Drive replacement! The routine stuff is well... pretty routine!

Mike - Hilliard, OHBig 10-4 on THAT, Mike.
(and sorry for calling you "Glen" previously; had you confused with another responder)
Bremen, OH is 10 minutes away. Just south of Bremen is the foothills to the Hocking Hills which -- for my money -- are exactly what I saw at STC II last month. Logan is 20 minutes away, and that IS the Hocking Hills. Lots of curves, hills, hills w/curves, etc. It's not the Smoky Mountains, but there are good roads right here.
Might make a nice test ride area for the tech session we are pondering.

I'd really enjoy getting help with an HID and PIAA 1100X setup (See longer comment in lighting thread from today: http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5757&page=3) and maybe a set mounted on the crash wings. My 03 just went in for the service today to be worked on next week, if there is anyone in CT who would be available sometime after then I'll call the dealer and cancel the 1100X install and will order a new HID setup so we can put the stuff on. FREE MEAL!!!
I'm in CT so I think OH may be a little far for the lights but will be watching this thread as a possible excuse to take a long weekend!

I just read the invite in the midwest forum. I'm going to be on a Smokey Mountains ride on the 17th so won't be able to make it.

I will be around on the 3rd. I have both and did the HID myself. Do we want to plan something for the 3rd for the NE folks? Again I can host here in Colchester. Plently of space in garage. If you are coming from a far I may even be able to offer floor space or a couch. Or if you like camping plenty of lawn. Lets see if we can nail this down tomorrow or so. I will check with the Misses to make sure the 3rd is not spoken for already but I can not think of any thing right now. I will post again Friday mid day.

I'm in!!!!!
I live right outside Hartford so I'll just be coming over for the day - Lucky you??:)
I'm going to call the dealer (Cliff's)and cancel them installing the PIAA's - I'm going to order the HID tomorrow so we'll have everything in time. Since you are riding with an HID, do you think I should get a low beam and a high beam, or just the low?
Just a heads up, the only thing that could be a problem is if the bike is not out of the service dept. by the 3rd, but that is giving them over 2 weeks (it went in today) to get the front tire put on and do a few other relatively minor service items.
Let me know if you would need me to bring anything, I'll send you my contact info so we can work out the details.
THANKS AGAIN to the group! :D

My calendar is clear for the 3rd. So how about we meet at like 9AM. PM for address or directions. Also if there is someone out there with more experience that would like to join please speak up.
I did just the low beam HID. To me it is enough if you do the low beam and the PIAAs. My PIAAS are mounted under the nose cone not under the crash bars.
