RT comments

I read a few negative comments on the R1200RT. I rode one this past weekend and the jury is still out. I own an R1150R and am looking for something with a little more road comfort. The RT was fast and nimble and I could find nothing wrong with the bike. The transmission is a lot smoother than my 04R. But..........there was something just "souless" about the 1200 motor.

Are there any opinions out there? I loved my test ride on the K1200S, wow! Don't think I can afford the K1200 touring version of that engine....

I had a R1100RT and now have a R12RT. They are completely different machines which is not intended as a negative comment about either. I don't understand what you mean about the R12 engine being "souless". It is considerably smoother (balance shaft). In that respect, I guess it might be said to have a bit less 'character'. I would prefer a slightly lower 1st gear and perhaps a slightly taller 6th gear, but that's about all I would like to see different.
