Anybody on the board riding an '05-ish silver LT south on Ellsworth past the GM Desert Proving Grounds Monday evening?

I live in Queen Creek west of Ellsworth & Ocotiilo and frequently take that route. I have an 05 LT Charcoal Gray and usually ride with a Fort Worth rack instead of the trunk. Are you in the area? Your signature local is in Indiana.

I'm a hoosier, but spend a week or two every other month or so driving around in circles at GM's Desert Proving Grounds. Was just trying to get out of the gate through all the construction traffic when somebody, most likely you, went by on that mess they call Ellsworth Rd.

Your description of Ellsworth is accurate. The roads, most of them, suck out here. The only reward is the scenery and the tolerable weather. Since Jan. 2005 I have had three nails in three different "NEW" tires, bent a rim and trashed both mirrors on the BMW. It does not seem to be as durable as my Fatboy. The HD has not had any issues, knock on wood. My neighbor works for Harley at the GM proving grounds. Too bad you don't live in AZ, I could use a riding buddy.

Until they get the "Satan" highway fixed, there's not much choice on ridable roads. I had to sneak up 50ft tour coach all the way up Ellsworth past the lake to the Bush hiway through all that construction - not fun. Same thing near Roosevelt Lake/Globe area (though it was worth it for the Louie Burger).
My fatboy ('92) held up pretty well, too. Two fried stators and the ball check valve stuck a couple times but other then that, it did me well for 68k miles til the LT came along.
I'll let give you a shout next time I'm out there. One of my college buddies lives on the northside and has two bikes (a Duece and something else) and is begging me to go riding with him sometime. Maybe we can all make a trip to Payson or something (unless I can talk some of these HD proving grounds guys into trading me their bike for a tourcoach/18wheeler/dumptruck/military truck - any of the boring things I drive around the track in.

Sounds good if everything comes together. Let me know. I have not been up to Payson in a year, that could be fun.
