Hi folks, just bought my K12LT on Saturday... already I can see it's going to be a great relationship! Only fly in the ointment is the throttle grip is slipping off. My only other experience with heated grips was with aftermarket type elements that adhere directly to the throttle sleeve and the grip slips over the entire assembly. Can someone tell me whether the heating element is incorporated in the in the grip, or fastened to the throttle sleeve? I hesitate pulling the grip all the way off to re-glue it for fear I'll damage the heaters!

Thanks in advance... Steve

My grip wore off due to the old throttle cables being soooo bad. Great forearm work out though! Remove the grip by pulling the remainder off. The heating element is not part of the rubber grip. Put new cables in with new grip. Used the hairspray method to lube the grip before install. Slid on nice and easy. Also put a small amount of adhesive along edge to assure the grip didnot move. Then put on additional rubber sleeve used by tennis players to protect the grip. I'll just replace the sleeve every couple of years if need be. Found the thin rubber sleeve at the Sports store in the tennis racquet section.
Good luck.
