We had a good ride down to the Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge in Stecoah, N.C. 600+ miles. What a great place. Thunder storms Thursday night and rained till noon on Friday. After lunch we headed for the Dragon, got our picture taken by killboy.com somewhere in the middle. We arrived back at the Ironhorse after 8pm Friday evening after a 200+ mile afternoon. Got lost and ended up on gravel mountain road in Tennessee with sharp switchbacks with 60% inclines for twenty miles. Jaime's GS ate it up and the LT keep looking for blacktop around every turn. Back on track we rode the Cherohala Skyway to Robbinsville and made our way back to the Ironhorse in the dark. We missed dinner, but they gladly fixed us a plate. Oh, did I say what a great place the Ironhorse is! More thunder storms Friday night and rained till noon on Saturday. We took in the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, N.C. We broadened our loop, riding the BRP, 441 to Pigeon Forge then to Marysville where we rode 129 through the Dragon at dusk hitting the tight stuff in the dark and back to the Ironhorse a little after 9pm. Yes, missed dinner again and again they gladly fixed us a plate. 300+ miles today. No rain Saturday night. Sunday I rode out from the Ironhorse alone in the fog a little before 8am and Jaime stayed he liked it so much. Did I say what a great place the Ironhorse is. Arrived home 6:30pm 600+ miles for the day.

Oh, I forgot to mention the guest speaker was Susan Galpin a former road racer, a MSF instructor, high miliage competitor with 600,000+ miles, a MOA miliage slave qualifier. She talked riding technique Thursday and Friday evenings. I think she will be at the MOA rally in July. It was a very informative talk I learned something new.
