I'm just about to install my HID and have decided to remove the nosecone to get a proper look at everything.
All the bots are off, connectors unpluged, and beam adjuster removed, but something is holing it at the top in the middle. Do I need to remove the clock surround?
I've searched through the forum and hall of wisdom, but can't find reference to another fixing.
Any advice before I resort to brute strength?
Thanks
Simon

remove map light. at the 11 o'clock position is a torx screw. It's the 7th screw. If you have done that already, there are two more that some forget. One on the inside flat surface of the opening of the windshield bracket.

Simon - here (http://www.bmwlt.net/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=K1200LT&Number=47444&page=&view=&sb=&o=) is some info from the HoW area. Good description by Mark Neblett and with the info Raffy just gave, you should be home free on the nose cone removal. BTW - reinstalling that leetle screw behind the map light opening is one of those "hold your mouth just right" thangs - good luck! :bmw:
