My local parts guy has a hard time finding parts when I call. (This may be caused by my inadequate vocabulary.) Is there an online parts list that I can look parts up on my own?
As preventive maintenance, I want to replace the rubber seals around the radio control buttons and he said I might need to buy the unit at $495. I said "sure, order two so I can have a spare."
Thanks.

Have you tried Max BMW web site? They advertise that service and their parts guy in NH, Rusty, is a walking encyclopedia as well as a genuine nice guy.

Here are a couple of links to on-line parts fiches:

Within 12 minutes I have multiple sources for the info I need.
Now if I could find out where to get a replacement lens for my PIAA light I'd be set.
This forum has been a life-saver for me.
Thanks to all who contribute. Maybe someday I'll know something new and be able to offer some gems.

I like
www.realoem.com
I actually got my dealer hooked up in using it, said its easier and the images better than the parts fiche he gets from BMW NA. Also with the last 7 digits of your VIN and tells you build date and everything. Also as a BMW Cars (525, Z4) owner you can use it for the cars as well.
Its great

Hey John,
If you go to the top of this screen, click on Technical then Accessories then Parts List the first item takes you to RealOEM.com. Don't even need to leave our community to get there.

John - I wuz just looking thru Whitehorse Gear's catalog and I see where they have a lot of the PIAA replacement bulbs for sale. Surely not the best prices on the net, butt at least you may be able to identify which model of light fixture you have.

BTW - I run PIAA 1100X units on Toad and the cheapest replacement bulb I've found wuz $38, whereas most retailers and dealers are around $44-48. I did a quick search on my PC and didn't find the company, butt I'll keep looking and letcha know when/if I find somethang. HTH.

Thanks, Dick. You must have read my post over in Lighting. That is a story, too.
I am looking for two things. First, I want to replace the rubber rings that go around the radio buttons. Unfortunately BMW doesn't list them. I vaguely remember reading something about the radio manufacturer and thought about contacting them directly. Anyone have contact information for them?
Secondly, I have a broken glass lens that covers the bulb assembly on one of my PIAA lights. I posted pictures in the Lighting forum since I don't have the model numbers (I bought the bike used with the lights already installed). I am looking for a source for that, too. So far I have found an off-road truck shop that said if I come by they will try to find a part # to order. I don't understand why it is so difficult. The PIAA web site seems devoted to auto lighting.
So, that's my story. I appreciate all the help and suggestions.

And didn't recognize my lights. Mine are simple black housings. I guess they are too old to show up in anyone's current inventory.
Thanks for the suggestion, Dick.

Hey, John - you're pretty sure they're PIAA brand lights?? Mine have "PIAA" stamped on 'em, so I'm assuming your's do to? I didn't recognize 'em when I looked at your pics, butt I saw some in an auto parts store that sorta resembled those. Just wanna make sure we're after the PIAAs and not a knock-off.

The name is molded into the glass lens - which is what I am trying to replace. I guess it didn't show up on the close-up of the broken lens. I am trying to avoid removing the light from the bike, but I may need to in order to find a model or part #.
It might be that the current lens will fit the old housing since the bulbs are probably are probably a standard size.
