Just read the article in the May, June Robb Report. Good write up about CCR 2005 and the up coming CCR.
Even thought the writer was on a Harley it was well written.

When this came up last week, I recalled talking with Barrett right after CCR 05 about the report and when it wuz expected. Slipped by a month or so, butt worth the wait. The author is a friend of Barrett - sorta free-lancing - and I think is doing a stint in Russia now, or soon. Not sure what the topic is.

I know the CCR team hopes for some good PR from the article and that it will have a side benefit of pumping up the membership in our community. Of course, we have a pretty good reputation along the pipeline between the various large venues around the country, butt an article like that will provide information that others may not be aware of. Hopefully, that will serve to let those venues - ones we've not yet visited - know that our community involvement is yet another win-win benefit.

Hey, Gary - earmark that article and put the mag among Lone Star's Kafffee table goodies!! ;)

That is a pretty expensive report to subscribe to, so the great majority of us will never see it.

I think Don did a very good job of painting images with words and illustrating with great photographs to capture the feel last year's reunion.

It was a great reunion and our time in the two parks planning and and presenting the reunion have provided great memories that will remain with us for the rest of our lives.

Thanks again to all who volunteered and attended for making our time in the Tetons the best ever.

Thanks for posting it, Randy! Great article -- well written and with both a "beauty of nature" and "brotherhood among bikers" feel to it. As happens so often, I'm reminded how proud I am to be part of this great group, many of whom undoubtedly welcomed him with a friendly hello without knowing anything about who he was or why he was there!

I was chatting with someone over dinner just a couple of days ago, and was reflecting out loud to him on how groups like ours are one of the truly wonderful thing to spring from the internet...

(I better stop now before I get all sappy.)

Got to Barns and noble last night and checked out the Robb Report write-up.

Yep, there I was with my Grey "Sports" Mode [Short Euro Screen, SAE Edging and no Truck Box (Fort Worth Rack)]!!!

Yep... I just had to actually "buy" this one :)

Randy,

Not to be too much of a nervous nellie, but is there any exposure to the board (legal wise) with posting copyrighted articles?. Of course if Robb report gave permission the question is mute and should be ignored.

Generally, without permission of the copyright holder, there are HUGE penalties for posting this material.

Perhaps the original poster has those permissions from CurtCo Robb Media . .

I enjoyed the article as well. Do you want to see another like it? If so the writer is going to need to be paid. In order to get paid people will need to buy the magazine... I assume you see where I am going with this

I am probably sounding a bit pedantic, but I write software for a living, so this strikes close to home. I know that it would upset me to see someone else giving away the fruits of my labor without my permission.

On a final note, nobody needs to fink out anyone. There are plenty of spiders that troll sites for stuff like this.

Did anyone else catch the fact that the author said that the BMW riders were fully decked out in high-tech riding suits but the picture on page 5 shows the rider of the Blue LT wearing jeans and sneakers? :)

Richard,

I understand and appreciate your position. I'm married to a woman who see's the world in black or white terms. Something is either right, or it's wrong. There are no shades of grey.

With that said, I see this as a benign issue not nearly elevated to the severity of software piracy. This is more like a magazine laying on a table in a hospital waiting room. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of people may pick it up and read it until the magazine becomes torn, tattered and eventually thrown in the trash. No one in that waiting room paid to read it, and would never pay for the magazine anyway. Net sum loss to the magazine publisher is 0.

Having a single article posted here is much the same way. People will pass through this forum. Some may read the article, some may not. Eventually it will drop down off the page and will soon be forgotten.

BTW... I write software for a living also.

Do we have great jobs or what. Sitting around thinking things and then making those things come to life. Air conditioning in the summer, heat in the winter, free internet, being able to look busy when we're not :) . Gotta love it
