Hi all well spring has finally sprung just wondering if we are having a get together in the Cotswolds as Steve suggested way back in October of last year. Not really spoken to either Stuart or Steve since our first National Event which was really enjoyed by myself and Sarah. So here's to a larger gathering for 2006.

Hi Paul,
Yep, I'm up for a weekend in the Cotswolds, maybe late May early June??
For those of you who don't know we had an informal UK CCR last October, otherwise known as the 'Wet Weekend in Wales (WWiW)'. Several people expressed an interest in going but as it is difficult to arrange a date to suit everyone we only ended up with 3 bikes. We all had a great time and it was useful to share our LT experiences sooo.. why not do it again in spring 2006, great idea, though we have left it rather late!
So the question is are people interested in a get together? the Cotswolds was suggested as it is central and has some stunning roads and scenery, anybody know any decent accomodation round that area? we stayed in the Biker's Retreat in North Wales which was just the job. Perhaps you have another area that you know well with ace accomodation. Maybe we could combine it with the BMF show in May? What do you think? Whatever, if we're going to do something we need to get it organised soon.
If you're interested or have any ideas please post on this thread and we'll see where it takes us.

I've no problem with any Scots coming, gits or otherwise despite having lived in Shotts for 2 years! I'm sure it will be nice to come south and get a way from the rain!!
I'm off to Italy on the bike in the middle of June so given the time it takes to get these sort of things in place perhaps we should pick a weekend at the end of June, early July (before the kids break up) and see who wants to go then pick a central location. Last time stuart liased with the hotel but we all booked individually rather than an individual try and collect money etc.
I'll wait a week or so to see if anyone has any any ideas if not I'll put up a proposal and see what people think

Cotswolds are just up the road from me so, work permitting, count me in (although I am abroad for a few days either side of the late May Bank Holiday - not on the bike unfortunately)

Hi Steve, Paul and other interested parties, It sounds like a great idea to me, it couldn't be as wet as Wales could it? I don't know the area at all, and would be up for it as long as it coincided with my weekend off. I only get one in four, and staffing levels are really tight at the moment not allowing for much haggling of days. Also Jan and I are out of the country late July/August. Will watch this thread closely and see what develops. On a personal note after organising things like this in the past, I would be tempted to steer away from bank holiday weekends as the accommodation is usually well booked up in advance. As a possible suggestion how about the first weekend in September, most people will have had their summer breaks, if we are luck the weather should still be ok, kids will be back at school and it leaves plenty of time for finding accommodation, route planning etc (Oh and as it happens I am also on a weekend off!) Any thoughts?
