Passenger headsets

Hi all,
is there any reason I can not hook up some stereo headsets to the rear speaker wires for the passenger only.

I am not looking for intercom etc. Just passenger to be able to listen to radio, Cd's etc. Wind noise in helmet prevents just running with speakers only. I also find the music distracting while driving. To broke to invest in intercom system (just bought the bike).

Not sure. My first concern would be the wattage/amperage coming out of the speaker wires might, or likely would, fry your small headsets. But maybe not.
