Okay, its 12:40AM EST and I just now clicked on one of my *most* favorite sites:http://www.pocahontascountywv.com/planningyou/motomaps.aspx Anyone for getting together for a RTE (Ride To Eat) and/or a RNR (Ripp N Ride) on one of these lovely roads? Anytime (mostly) will work for me just as soon as I finish the Ride Around Texas in mid May. These West By Golly roads are guaranteed to scuff in your new tars and replenish your perspective on life!

My good friend Bruce,
Hunter & I just returned home this evening. Left Monday and rode past your place up to Danville VA where we toured the Tank Museum on Tuesday morning, if you haven't been you ought to go. It's worth the $10 admission and you are likely to meet the owner while you are there. An unusual chap to say the least. Rode on up 29 and then across VA43 all the way to Eagle Rock. Fabulous two lane twisty with absolutely no traffic. Had lunch at Maw & Paws Diner in Eagle Rock and proceeded up to Watoga State Park in West by God. Rented a beautiful secluded cabin in the park where Hunter once again spent hours honing his campfire building skills, sorry he will not be at spring training to do the honors. Got up and had a hefty breakfast at the Park Restaurant and decided a little balance, ying and yang stuff was in order. Rode the two lanes up to Seneca Rocks, a stunning rock formation that sprouts nearly a thousand feet out of the ground and looks a bit like a pancake stuck in the ground. I had gone rock climbing there in my younger days. Hunter was not nearly as impressed as I was. Headed west over to Buchannon WV and then south to the New River Gorge where we balanced our day by riding to the bottom of the gorge. That road is BY FAR the most challenging switch back I have ever ridden on a street bike. Made the entrance to Park Vista look like the top of a pool table. Having said that, if you ever go across this famous bridge over the gorge, take the time to travel down to the river. Hunter thought that was great. Headed on down to Pilot Mountain where we spent the night last night and then meandered back home today. West Virginia is just about my favorite place in the world, too bad you can't make any money there.
