Verrrrryy quitttte around here. Anyone getting any good riding in? Today was great. I took a short 45 minute run around the neighborhood. Still lots of sand on the roads!
I'm heading down the the STC II on Wednesday. I'm planning on taking the Southern State to the Belt to SI Expressway to the Turnpike. I'll take 95 down to just outside of Washington DC to I-66 and on to Skyline Drive. I figure I'll camp out Otter Creek Campgrounds. If weather is bad, I'll find a motel along the way. If I'm still feeling like riding, I may try to get to the Rocky Knob Campground. The next day, I plan on getting up eariler and making to the Ironhorse via the Blueridge Parkway.
Should be great riding, anyone intrested in an adventure?

I'll be leaving for STC from CT on the Monday after Easter. I'd rather not deal with the holiday traffic over the weekend.
After STC, I'll be heading for TN to leave the LT there, since I'll be moving 2 weeks later.
Anyone want to join the southbound ride?

Yepp, It is on. I am going to leave CT on Wednesday work my way over to the Tappanzee via 84/287 then down the Garden State to NJ Tpk to 95 to Wash/Va area and spend the night with my son. Thurs I plan to move southwest to the Blue Ridge and avoid the Skyline(To slow and to many park police) then down to the Iron Horse. I havent worked out the return trip yet, leaving it open.

Hey Fred,
It will be good to meet you at STC II. Just mind your speed on the Blue Ridge Parkway, they will ticket you there also. Minimum fine is $500.
Ride safe.

After an almost 16 hour, 963 mile ride I made it home at 1:30 AM Monday morning. I slept all day yesterday. Some of the highlights:
- A near "performance fee" issued by a Virginia LEO. I was cruising safely at 87 MPH in the left lane when he spotted me. Luckily, he asked me a few questions and let me go with a warning. Whew!
- Almost an hour wait to get gas on the NJ Turnpike at 10 pm. If I wasn't on empty I would have have kept going.
- A 5 mile walk with the LT while passing an accident on the Belt Parkway. It happened at the worst possible location- no exit and no shoulder area. I was fine but going 2 mph with the LT was NOT FUN!
The riding down there was great! Those southern boys don't know how to make a straight road. The twists were amazing! The Blue Ride Parkway was awesome! I experienced some great southern hospitality by the staff at the Ironhorse and many great guys (and their wives) from the list.
Unfortunately, I can't go to the CCR but I can't wait until October's Return to the Ironhorse!
