You are probably wondering what this bloke from Australia can do for himself. Douglas has kindly offered to sell me a radio at a very good price to replace my fried one. Trouble now is UPS want $180 USD to ship it to Oz. May be a long shot but is anyone coming to Australia in the near future that may be able to bring it with them? I am offering free accommodation in Melbourne and a guided tour of the bay on a police boat for anyone who could do this favour for me. Likewise anyone from Oz who may be travelling to the US.

That is a mighty good offer. I wish I was going to Australia soon but it will not be for about 8 years. I doubt that you would want to wait that long.

Thanks anyway, but I think I will go mad without music for that long.
If you hear of anyone who is, let me know.

Just put the word out to over 3000 employees of where I work here in the UK. Many of them globe trot on business meetings

Can't believe $180.00 for shipping unless it's overnight next morning delivery type thing. I ship stuff all over the world and big boxes weighing up to 7-8 lbs have never exceeded $50.00.
The trick is to use US Postal Service Priority Air Mail plus pay for Insurance (get tracking number that way). Have to fill out the proper Customs forms. Anything over $400 in value or 4 lbs requires the long form.
Hope this helps,

yeah no worries, I'll buy you a ticket but it will be with Royal Haemorrhoid Airways (most of their planes are four stroke now) it will be one way and I can't guarantee where you might end up landing but there needs to be some compromise so you will need to turn around and find your own way back. (Make sure the pilot turns the light on though because I think it will be dark).
Thanks for the offer

Depends if you are in a hurry or not. My wife is travelling back to Sydney in the last 2 weeks of May. She'd be happy to bring it back and post from Manly. I'd get it delivered here in Philly.
