Congrats on that accomplishment.
May I inquire as to what kind of maintenance went into your LT during this time?

Congrats! I doubt that my 99 will ever see that mileage. It is only about 38,000 now.

My helmet's off to you Harv, I just turned 100k on my '99. Seems like it ought to be easier for me riding year around on the coast of SC than you living in winter wonderland. Makes your number all that much more impressive. Hope to see you on the road.

Congrats! Have you applied for the BMW 200K pin?
I had hoped to be nearing that mark on my '01 about now, but my accident in '04 ended that quest. :D
I had "planned" to do some really long rides in '05, the 48++ for one, the inaugural "RAT" (Ride around Texas) was another, but it was cancelled anyway due to hurricane activity. It was to be my year to shoot at the BMWMOA mileage contest. At least the fuel cell and Hella Micro DE HIDs I had purchased went to good use! Sold them to Edgar, and he took them on the 48++ ride for me. :D :D :D
At least the 2005 MOA contest was won by a friend here in San Diego, Dave Mishalof. I was going to try and beat him. That local interest would have kept me inspired all year. :D Of course, possibly besting Heidi would have been the real kick! That lady is phenominal!
Oh well, as it goes "All the best laid plans------"

Congratulation!
I too would like to know if you did anything special maintenance wise, or did you just follow the standard maintenance schedule in your owners manaul. Also, any major breakdowns or failures along the way?
In any event... super job. My hats off to you!

Dave, I got my 500k pin and patch just weeks ago. And, thanks again for your advise and support on various maintenance issues.

Really nothing special, in fact I'm more lenient than BMW: One year unlimited miles (around 30k) on valve checks, gear oil (BMWsynth), and spark plugs.
