Hi, Just bought a new 05 LT and the alignment just does'nt seem right. The handlebars are pointing slightly off to the right when front wheel is center. When I'm going down the road straight the handlebars are a little crooked to the right and are not centered with the instrument cluster and or fairing. It is just enough to feel wrong. The dealer says that all LT's have this "uncentered" phenomenon. Is this true? Can it be adjusted? Please help. Thanks.

Maybe you need to find another dealer. My LT only goes straight down the road when the bars are pointed straight....Doesn't sound good. Dealer probably knows that and doesn't want to fix....Who is it anyway?

On another note, You might want to fill out your profile so we know where you are and stuff... Might find a friend nearby who is willing to help you..

Are you a drummer ? I am.

Thanks for replying John. My wife and I waited a long time to get a bike like this and we love it except for that. Yes, I am a drummer in Las Vegas. I've been playing up and down the strip since 97. The dealer is BMW of Las Vegas.
I'm brand new to this site, sorry about the profile. :o

Put her on the center stand and measure each side. There is and adjustment, but since the bar is basically one piece, it ends up being up and down. You have to remove both side panels, the stingray and the leetle piece in the center of the handlebars.

Mayhaps it was dropped hard during uncrating?

Thanks for replying, I just want to make sure you know how the handle bars are positioned. Mine are crooked on the horizontal axis just by about 1/2 inch.
 Remember when you were a kid and fell on your bike. Then you asked someone to put the front wheel in between their legs while you straightened the handle bars center again. I wish I could just do that. 1/2 inch. :) Thanks again, Scott

Hey, Scott, I go to BMW of Las Vegas for servicing..Can you say who the tech was that you talked to? Sure sounds fishy to me..They did my 12K check and I've had no bad vibes with them to date..But then I've only had my LT since Aug, 05 which I purchased in FL and rode back to Vegas..BTW,
My handlebars are straight also..That response you got doesn't sound right at all..
If I can be of any help, let me know..(not that I'm an expert with the LT but I'm willing and able to lend a hand wherever)

There needs to be a Hall of Stupid Dealer Quotes in here. :D
