I have this on my LT and love it...i have test ridden the R12RT and wonder if using the lip on this bike will help with the buffeting the way it does on mine...i'm used to looking over the windscreen and never raise mine now i have the lip...have been thinking of selling the LT and my Triumph Speedmaster and getting the new RT..

Hi All, I had an LT for 4 years. Loved it. Now I have an 05 RT. Love it more. But...the RT windscreen never went high enough for me. So I bought the Cee Baily (1 inch wider, 4 inches taller with laminar lip, curve at the top) and things are better. The 4 inches turns out to be too much. I really only needed an inch or two more to stop the buffetting. At full height I am looking through the middle of the screen. Fortunately, at the lowest setting I am looking over the top. I seem to set the height just up a little from the lowest position and I get the quietest ride with the least buffetting.
I think there is more to it than just the windscreen. I miss the lower windwings of the LT. I think they directed the air in way that cut out buffetting as did the smaller non adjustable wings below and on the sieds of the LT main windscreen.
I am comfortable enough on the RT now. I doubt it will ever be as smooth and quiet, wind wise, as the LT, but I knew that when I swithced bikes. The RT has lots of pluses that keep me happy.
I'm 6'2" and have short legs and long torso. I use the seat on the higher setting to get my knees straighter, which of course puts me higher on the windscreen.
Cee Baily has other height and width models.

that's encouraging...has anyone else just put the lip on the original screen and perhaps customized the bike a little, i.e. with side screens, etc. to minimize buffeting?...i really don't want to have to look through the screen...

I've fitter a laminar lip to my '05 LTSE Euro Cut screen. Done about 3,ooo miles and it seems a bit better for me (I'm 6'3") my wife on the back seat says that its way better with no buffertingat all.

Gentlemen
The laminar lip:
It slices, dices & purees any bug that comes it's way, not mention it reduces buffeting, it also deflect rain and water off the windshield when ever your going 50mph and above.
However I've noticed (at least on my bike) when you hit 75mph the windshield can not be raised until you drop below 70 again, it must be the pressure.
I understand another BMW aftermarket parts manufacture has released a new Vstream Windshield that looks interesting.
Here's the link Ztechnik, toys for the LT, RT and those fast Beemers (http://www.ztechnik.com/products/index.html)
I plan to check with my dealer next time I'm there, perhaps another customer has one and theres some positive feedback to be had.
