It seems to me that I read somewhere in these forums that it is possible to charge the K12LT by using a BMW accessory power plug and wiring the plug to the charger. Then, when you want to place the bike on the Battery Tender you simply plug into the accessory outlet, plug the Battery Tender to 110V and you are in business.
Is the above description correct? If yes, which terminal on an accessory plug is positive, which is negative (the other one I guess)?

Use the accessory plug on the left side, as it is always hot. The one on the topcase by the passenger is switched, so will not work.
The center is positive. You can buy the plugs seperate if you already have a good charger, no need to pay the price for a new one from BMW.
However: The new BMW gell battery needs a charger with a different voltage profile than the standard lead-acid or Odyssey batteries need.
