I am currently riding with a CB#2, -2". I have noticed that it creates an eddy, ie, pulls me forward like a fully extended stock windscreen, even when it's lowered quite a bit. Has anyone else noticed this?

-tomHey Tom,
FWIW, my CB #2 -2 w/wings only creates that negative back pressure (or whatever the experts call it) when it's fully raised, or very nearly there. I also notice more of that negative pressure when my wife rides with me, and she is much shorter than me.

I noticed negative pressure with my stock BMW screen (the 17" stock screen), and with Joe's CB #2 -2 without wings. I'm willing to bet all shields do this, but I have never ridden with any of the other brands.

I'm also betting that the negative pressure created by a CB shield, at a lower position than the stock shield, is evidence that it is working -- creating more lift than the stock shield.

Others will chime in with more details. Certainly we have an aeronautical engineer amongst us.

Noticed it with every windshield I've had on the bike, stock, CB#1, CB#2. I tend to get used to it & not notice it. Then I spend time away from the LT, on another bike, & notice it again when I get back on the LT. Only takes a little while to get used to it again...........JMO, YMMV.

Tom,

my experience goes as follows:

I experienced a terrible neck draft with the stock short shield no matter how I adjusted it. Few times when I rode with a woollen scarf the loose ends of it were sticking forward in 70 mph speed! Sure looked funny on the highway when I was passing cars...

This was helped with a CB #2. I ordered it accidentally with -2 height but it was way too tall for me so I shortened it to maybe -4,5. (I'm 180 cm = 6') Now I no longer suffer from the neck draft. Could it be that your shield is too high? Do you really need so tall shield?

:D I think some might say that having negative pressure when their wife is riding behind them is almost a certainty, but you didn't hear it from me :D.

All fairings and windshields do this; some to a lessor degree. Back in the '70's they started calling this the "Vetter effect" after Craig Vetter who created the ubiquitous Vetter fairing used on most touring bikes.
As the air is forced around a windshield it causes the backside of the windshield to be negative. Air is then pulled forward by this negative pressure. That's why a loose jacket or shirt will billow out in front of you.
The LT has a vent (opening) at the bottom of the windshield to allow air in to reduce the negative pressure. Without this vent the forward rush of air would be much worse.

I have the CB#2 -2 and don't really notice the back pressure. I look over the windshield by a few inches, so I suppose this helps. I'm pretty tall at 6'4". If you're shorter, I'd recommend a smaller shield. Even at my height, the -2 is a little on the tall side. I barely raise the shield at all to get the wind deflected over my helmet. It would be nice to have more adjustment range for those days when you want lots of airflow.

I just ordered this in an effort to reduce the wind on my wife who rides with me most of the time. She is tall, 5'10 and the stock, tall BMW windshield does not do much for her, no matter what position. I will let you know how it works when we get it. BTW, no negative presure for me. No intercom.

I have the #2w/wings at -4" and have no negative pressure until fully raised. Then just a small amount.
