Man... I was thinking the 50 or 48 tire pressures were way to high. I gassed those babies up like you guy suggesteded.. and wow! he ride this weekend was superb. the tire pressures at 50 rear and 44 front made life complete. Thanx for everyone chiming in on tire issues the past few weeeks.... mess 13 included ... the info on tire pressure is right on target. This is going to be a great summer on m new LT. chris

You might want to rethink that rear pressure. I followed the suggestions of some to run 48 in the rear. Well, I'm replacing my rear today because of threads showing on the inside. I only got about 5k out of this rear Meztler. Everything I'm reading now is saying that early wear on the center of the rear tire is coming from being too inflated.

Just something to think about.

My BMW Dealer told me 45 ft / 46 rear I've done that for almost 40,000 mile and get 10,000 -11,000 miles rear & 15,000 - 17,000 front. The only exception is if I do a lot of highway miles pulling my trailer the it's closer to 9,000 on the rear.

I am following the bottom recommendation from Metzeler and getting minimum of 15K miles per tire: (Solo Front:40 Rear:46)

ME880...Solo......2 Up Light......2 Up Heavy
Front....38-40......40-42............40-42
Rear.....44-46.......46-48...........48-50

I used to use 42/48 solo and the bike was relatively jumpy. and the rear tire had only a small contact area thereby causing more wear in the narrow strip in the middle of the tire.
