I would love to hear from anyone who has seen, owned and especially ridden for a while on a Cee Bailey custom saddle. The company builds excellent windscreens but I know no one who has a saddle by them. TIA

I think the seats are made by Russell Day Long. Look at RDLs web site and compare.

FYI:

Nope. Pretty much a clone though. Just like ALMOST every other seat on the market...

Russel is the only one that uses a steel leaf spring suspension - patented by Mayer in the 1970's and STILL in use!

I have the Corbin on my '06 RT. Have put several 300 mile trips on it so far and it the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden. :D

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks

I have one for my R1200GS and while better than OEM and Sargent seats, I'm not overly impressed with the overall comfort though. Quality and fit are not at issue, but the cushioning is a little too firm and pitches me forward. If I had it to do all over, and I will for my RT, I'll be going with either Rick Mayer or Russell Day Long seat. They are the two best after market seats on the market.

I did manage to make a 1,040 mile one day shot down from NJ to Titusville, FL on my R1200RT on the stock BMW seat so it is doable. The only thing that bothered me on the trip, however, was not unexpectedly, the seat. I'll replace it later this year with one of the aforementioned seats. :rotf:

I met an RT rider yesterday who had a Cee Bailey saddle, leather with memory foam. Not sure whether he is a list member. He had good things to say about his saddle but he expressed the opinion that Rick Mayer was the guy to call.

That's what we call "double hearsay" so take it for what it's worth.
