Available now. Heel/toe shifter constructed of stainless steel. This shifter is very simple to install and using it is a simple pressing down with your boot heel on the rear peg.

http://www.bmwlt.com/gallery/files/2/Kickshifterfinished1.jpg

Shifting with this uint means you will not have to place your boot under the stock shift lever anymore. Some of these boots can get pretty large (whether you have a size 10 or 14 boot), and a simple click of the heel brings you to the next gear. Downshifting is the same as stock. Write me if you have question or wish to purchase.
Cost is $185.00 plus shipping of $8.00

Can you post the installation instructions?

I'm giving it serious thought. I always wanted one for the LT. I have one on the GW.

I have instruction that are sent with the unit. Pretty simple layout of a template and drill two holes in side cover. Also when you order one, I will send to your emial address, a couple of pictures showing the template in place and the mount bolted on.
Right now, I'm trying not to overburden Eljeffe with too much stuff, just trying to get this first posting up there. After he gets it straightened ouit, we may put the other up there also.
Thanks for your interest right now. If your using one on your Wing, this is the same thing bassically.

Buck,

Very nice. I'll probably eventually get one of these. They are very useful when wearing well insulated boots for very cold weather riding.

Do I see that right, there is an adjustment slot for the rear lever position on the main rocker lever?

Thanks for your work,

John

If I understand you correctly, yes, there are two bolt holes in the rear for your peg to mount into. In cases of someone who might have floorboards, you would use the lower hole. Until I have someone who has floorboards buy one, I won't know if the lower hole is sufficient to lower the peg. At worse case, you will be able to mount a piece of metal to the bolt holes, and drop the mount area down to where it is comfortable for the individual. Hope I didn't confuse you on this answer.

Can you shrink that picture by about 1/2?

What is the purpose of the "notch" and the extra hole?
see arrows.

The hole could be used by somene who wished to not place their toe under the stock shifter. Will likely be left out on next production run.
As for the "notch", that is a offset bend in the bar. If places the "loop" over the rubber part of the shifter.

The hole could be used to mount a small peg to allow the rider to not have to place his toe under the stock shifter. Will likely be eliminated on the next production run. The "notch" is an offset in the bar to place the "loop" over the rubber part of the shifter.

The purpose of the hole was to mount a small peg if someone wanted t ono have to place their toe under the stock shifter. That will likely not be in the next production run. As for the "notch", that is an offset bend that puts the "loop" in the end of the bar over the stock shifter's rubber end.

There was an email sent to my email box and during a mailbox cleaning, I lost it. There was a rider from Isreal who owned a BMW K1200 LT who wanted to buy the kickshifter. I have lost that email. Hopefully that rider will find this and respond again.

Wanted to let you know that I was the first to have Buck's shifter put on my K1200LT. It works very well for me. I have a 13EEEE shoe and limited range of motion in my left ankle, so shifting with only the toe peg is not easy for me. Also, my last ride was a Harley Road King, so am used to heel-toe shifter. I also added an Ilium Works peg extension to the toe peg, which greatly aids downshifting. Regards, aceman

Fugheaboud that. I wanna know how he is going to ship that pair of hands that hold those two bolts in place! (see picture below)

Seriously, it looks like a real quality piece. Ever since I got my new Contour (BMW) boots it has been kind a pain shifting with them - they are so thick at the toe I'm having trouble, and this looks like a great solution...

...plus I'll look darned spiffy at all times without those unsightly "shifter toe" marks! :D

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be putting away a few bucks for this one.

Can you take and post a photo looking down on it?

:) Here are a couple of photos I took just now of the installed shifter on my Trike. I did the install Friday evening when I got home from work and then took it for a short ride around the block. It was starting to rain, so we (wife and I) didn't stay out long.
Then, Saturday morning, we had to go to Boulder (20 minute ride) and I was anxious to try it out on that run. In truth, it seems so natural, that I forgot about it being new and wanting to test it out. It seemed like it had always been there.

The install went very well, although it was good that I talked to Buck first and asked a few questions before starting it. With what he told me verbally and the instructions included, it was a piece of cake.

All of the parts seem to be realy quality, although if you feel compelled to have tools for it on your bike, you will need to have both US and metric hex wrenches. Lucky for me I had both anyway, so it was no problem.

I'm pleased as I can be.

Thanks for the photos and install update. Looks nice. A question for those that have this installed. I have the BMW pillion floorboards. Any chance of it interfering with Mrs. Tallyho's boot position?

If you look again at the second photo, you will notice in the extreme upper right corner, the pad of the pillion's floorboard. It is in the upper most position, but could be lowered at least two inches without affecting the heel of the shifter's foot. With the foot being angled forward slightly, it probably still wouldn't be affected much.

Ok, so I like the kickshifter.

New question. Does anyone have the floorboards installed for the rider? I have them for my passenger, but just have the pegs for me. I've seen and thought longingly about the nice big floorboards on a GW. But they want $450.00 for them at Sierra and A&S. Are they worth it? And, most importantly, would they interfere with the new kickshifter?

I tried the Ilium floorboards on my LT as I had full floorboards on my two previous Goldwings. I returned them as they just didn't seem to feel right with the LT. At least not for me. I have also heard/read numerous complaints about the lasting quality of the Ilium floorboards. If someone knows of another vendor, sing out.

Who has purchased one of these heel/toe shifters for the LT and are they worth buying? I ask because I just made the jump from an HD with heel/toe shifters and I miss them (I occassionally try to shift with my heel and grab nothing but air). Also how easy is it for someone who is mechanically challenged to install them himself.

Can't comment on the mechanically challenged part, but I bought one, installed it and I love it. I never had a heel toe shifter before, but it took about 5 minutes to get used to it. I'll not be without it from here on.

i was the first to have Buck's kick shifter on my k1200lt ('05). It works great for me. I have a large boot size, 13EEEE, and limited range of motion in my ankle. I added a peg extension to aid in downshifting. Also, my previous ride was a H-D Road King, so I am used to heel-toe shifter set up. Aceman

Hey Buck,

Since I am right up the road and always looking for a reason to ride (not to often want a reason to ride into Houston ;) ) what would you charge to help a guy who could F**k up an anvil and install this? I have never owned a bike in 35 years that didn't have a heel shifter until I bought the LTs. I miss it!!!
