For those of you in the NE area, thought you might be interested in this - if you haven't already received your copy. I'm doing Rango's Red River Roundup in NM in May, so gotta pass on this gig. Looks interesting, tho.

Get Ready to Eat New England!
Plans are crystallizing for the New England Roadfood Eating Tour of May, 2006. In order to accommodate all those who want to join us on the delicious expedition, we are planning to do it twice: Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7. The itinerary will be the same each day.
Participants will meet in the parking lot of Woodman's of Essex (that's Essex, Massachusetts), where the fried clam was invented, at 9:45am. The bus will leave at 10am with some 50 people aboard, including both Sterns, Stephen Rushmore, and Marc Bruno, who will do our best to entertain and amuse everyone between meals.
At 10:15 we arrive at the Clam Box in Ipswich. Chickie, the proprietor, is going to open up early and give us the royal treatment. Here we shall indulge in what many believe to be the best fried clams on the North Shore, ergo the best on earth. With, of course, onion rings, French fries, cole slaw and whatever else we can fit on our trays from the excellent Clam Box menu.
We leave the Clam Box about 11:15. Next stop: Nick's Roast Beef, for that little-heralded but absolutely magnificent north-of-Boston specialty, the deluxe roast beef sandwich. After Nick's, we drive to Kelly's Roast Beef to compare and contrast and to see if Stephen or Michael is right about how good (or bad) Kelly's fried clams are.
The bus heads back for a meal at Woodman's of Essex, another contender for the Best Fried Clam crown. Woodman's is also ready and waiting for us. And to round out our taste of the region, for dessert, Stephen promises to bring a few gallons of some of the best ice cream in the Boston area.
Cost is $55 per person. That covers transportation for the day as well as a cache of Roadfood.com souvenirs that will include a high-quality cap (similar to last year's). Of course a signed copy of Jane & Michael's forthcoming memoir all about Roadfooding, "Two for the Road," plus other goodies still in the works will be rewarded for those who can answer Roadfood trivia questions between our destinations. Each participant is responsible for buying their own meals at the restaurants.
Stephen is going to make tickets available from the home page at Roadfood.com March 27th at noon, EST for Roadfood Insiders (for more information: http://www.roadfood.com/FAQ/Insider.aspx), and the next day at Noon for everyone else. In the interests of equal opportunity, purchases are limited to four seats per person, with only one order per registered user.
We hope to see you there!
