Radio control panel

Hi All,
My radio, cd and tape player no longer work after getting caught out in a heavy down pour some months back.

My reasoning tells me the control panel and LCD display are the culprit here.
Previous advice from the forum suggested water can get into the printed circuit if the button have small cracks.

Anyway yesterday I finally had time to remove everything and get the control panel apart. I couldn't see where water had entered the circuit board anywhere, and there was no sign of any corrosion on any part of the board.

So I gave everything a spray with electrical contact cleaner and put it back together. Still no joy.

Since the contol panel is the only common link between all three audio functions, I'm still figuring that has mine must be faulty.

Has anyone had to replace one of these control units?
Any idea of what they cost ?
Any ideas where I might locate a good secondhand one off a wreck?

Be aware that the radio/control panel has several 12v power feeds. One stays hot always to maintain the radio button presets, and one gets switched on and off with the key. Of course the switched wire also runs through the control panel.

You should check the bike schematics and see if maybe one of the power or ground connections is bad.

I doubt its a wiring earth fault. I'm still getting power to the control panel. It comes on but then fades out. Nothing after that. The fact that the control panel is the commonality between all three audio systems on the bike, and all three stopped working at the same moment. I'm fairly convinced the c.p is the culprit

I've located a secondhand stingray here in Australia that has the control panel on it. I'll try changing the panels over and see if that works? If not, well maybe an aftermarket intercom and mp3 audio kit is coming up.

Ive seen the control panels on ebay from time to time

my lcd panel is kind of fogged up after getting into several torrential downpours last year.....

id like to replace just that but near as i can tell u gotta go with the whole unit.....

from time to time there is one on ebay though....
