Changes to the engine of k1200LT

Hello:

Someone told me that they snipped a green wire on the k1200LT that allowed for a different setting for the engine. Does anyone know about the health of doing this to the bike, and if recommended or not???!!

Hi jth,

You can set an alternate fuel map in the Motronic (motor control computer) by cutting a specific Brown Wire. This helps with a known hesitation problem, especially in hot weather and low speeds, but it requires the use of premium fuel.
