As I will be spending a good part of this year running around South London (*) here in the UK, I've recently purchased a 1991 K75RT to save commuting costs - I've calculated I can buy the bike, run it for six months and more or less throw it away at the end of the year and still beat the cost of travelling by public transport by 50% or more. Its mechanically ok but needs some tidying - as I'm currently the Editor the processes involved may well form the basis of an article or two for the UK BMW Club Journal ! Its already been christened the "Editorial Hack" by SWMBO so its got off to a good start and leaves the K12LT free for more enjoyable touring duties in Europe later this year.

At the moment I'm trying to source a radio and fitting kit which, as they're no longer available from BMW, amounts to trying to locate hen's teeth : if anyone has one or can point me in the direction of anyone who has fitted any other radio to the bike, please get in touch ! I've tried MotoBins, MotoWorks and James Sherlock, our "usual suspects" in regard to used parts, to no avail so here I am extending the search across the pond !

Similarly if anyone has a multivario tankbag, crashbars and taller screens for a K75RT can they let me know as well. Thanks in advance

Chris

Thanks Dark Cloud

I've managed to track down a BMW radio and remote control on eBay, a used radio fitting kit from a fellow club member and the fuel and coolant temperature gauges from MotorWorks here in the UK. I'm now looking for the instrument console panel that houses the gauges and a taller (?Secdem?) screen.
