Hey, Mike Gray (DaBubba), great road trip report about your scooting around Alaska on your LT. I enjoyed the read in BMW ON immensely - prolly cuz I can relate to all the POI you visited and mentioned. My long term wish would be to meet you in Homer - you on your scoot and me on Toad, and we'd just fall in behind ya and drink in all the stunning scenery and ride 'til we felt like stoppin' and chattin' with the locals and gather in all the history and folklore that abounds in Alaska. Yeah, it's a daydream for me, I know --- but ride reports like yours bring it closer to reality - maybe, just maybe.

Thanks, Mike. Where ya goin' this year?? ;)

I haven't gotten the March issue of ON yet, but I assume they decided to use the article I submitted about 6 months ago. Glad you enjoyed it. If you ever get to Homer, give a little advanced notice and I'll definately meet you there. I had hoped to go to CCR and BMW National this year, but CCR is definately out and National is now looking iffy because of my trial schedule here. Things could clear and BWM National is still a possiblity -- I'd love to make it, I used to bike a good bit in the Vermont and New Hampshire when I lived on the east coast. The big problem from here is that Outside trips require at least 3 weeks, and taking off that kind of time requires a good bit of luck with my schedule, luck which doesn't seem to be coming my way this year. Right now I'd just be happy for enough snow to melt to be able to get the bike out of the garage. Looks like I'll have to order a couple extra issues of March ON now. Thanks for your thoughts.

What the hey mike? You trying to get me to move back up to the great land? Really enjoyed your article in the ON! And know what you're talking about when you describe the changing weather! Still do miss it a lot though. Beautiful country!

Well, John, tonight the temp is about 28 degrees and we're having 120+ mph winds. You probably don't miss that too much. But springtime is just around the corner. Maybe.
