MP3 control through the bike?

I've had a search and can't find anything about this.
At the moment I don't have an MP3 player. I'm thinking of buying one to use on the LT, but would like to have it work through the handlebar controls. What is my best option? I'm guessing that it's not possible to get the track name or info to come up on the display??????
Am open to all suggestions.

There are a few simple options. I have a Panasonic MP3 player that is about the size of a match book. I plug a cassette adapter into the cassette tape deck and plug its mini earphone jack into the MP3 player. You will not have channel selection or display, but you will enjoy great tunes with out making any modification on the beast.

Another option is simply plug the MP3 player into your helmet speakers and drop the player into a convenient jacket pocket and be on with it.
