Since the local shop went out of business, anybody know of anyone in the area that can competently do maintenance work on these things. Personally don't have the time or inclination to do so myself, and arranging something at Cape just would take a lot of time.
Friend of mine at work who is also a Beemer owner, called one of the numbers posted on the closed shop's door, and it was the regional manger's personal cell phone. He was a bit annoyed they had made it public. He said they hoped to have a new operator in place before the end of the year, and they had several interested parties. According to my friend, he said they do encourage single brand shops, and do require a certain minimum inventory, but do not require any particular sized store. Commenting that STL BMW went pretty much top of scale in this regard.. He apparently also stated that they fully support the dealer in Cape, and are not pressuring them to do anything.
