I am trying to get an idea if we should come to the CCR this year with some of our Cee Bailey's products. Answers to this poll will help us decide.

How about "I already own a Cee Bailey's Windscreen but think they're great and tell everyone they should get one too." I think it'd be great if you guys could make it out.

:D Isn't that what we love to hear. Yeah, we are most likely going to be there, but I thought it would be nice to gather some stats.

At the last CCR we had a local BMW dealer support us with tire changes and regular service work. They did ask people to give them a heads up as to what kind of tires they wanted, and how many. That helped them bring the appropriate stock. And their service guys were working non stop the whole time.

I think a lot of people are still confused as to what height to get, and the differences between #1, #2, and the extra side wings. Having several examples there in different heights will probably get you a ton of business all by itself. Mail order is great, but sometimes you just gotta see the product and how it fits before you buy.

I think it would be a great addition to CCR......
I myself have had good luck with the shields I have purchased from Cee Bailey but some have had to go through multipul shields to get one without a defect. This might be a great chance to address anyone's concerns with a shield their not quiet happy with. Also showcase your line and explain sizes, and mounting do's and dont's.

I know the CB product pretty well from the web site but have never actually laid eyes on one! It would be like finding the Holy Grail if Cee Bailey, or someone with a bunch of their stock, would be at CCR. I am ready to go about anywhere for a chance to see the different styles and sizes. If they are what I think they are, I might even purchase a #2 with wings in a taller size (for winter), and a #2 in a shorter size (for the other 9 months).

Yes, I'd really REALLY like to see multiple variations of a CB windshield, at the same place at the same time.

I think it would be the best way for you to reach over 350 BMW K1200LTs in one place. You could probably bring 75 units to CCR and sell out in the first few days. Just ask the people from Highway Ottoman or Motolight. Even Hank from Rhine West could have brought double the number of Remus Exhaust Systems and still sold out.

I think you should come and bring along a sampling of windshields that can be mounted and taken for test rides. When I was shopping for mine the toughest part was deciding what hight to order. I Would have loved to have been able to take a ten or fifteen minute ride with a couple of different sizes before laying down the money.

Like a bunch of other folks, I would order a slightly different size now that I KNOW what size I really need.

You make a great product, hope to see you there.

You'll see that anyway at CCR, as well as several other windshield brands and more farkles than you can imagine. Cruising the parking lot and ogling all the bikes is one of the best things to do at CCR (next to riding and chatting with other folks, that is).

I am with Howard on this except that I will buy minimum 1 maybe 2 from you since, after reading enough threads on this wonderful forum, it is readily apparent that your screens are "it" insofar as replacing the stock shield.

My only question is how am I going to send the stock shield/potential second CB shield home?

Please come and fit me.

Thanks

I think you should come and bring along a sampling of windshields that can be mounted and taken for test rides...YES -- even better. Bring 1 or 2 of each style and size combination (if possible); mount the sample on the willing, eager, potential new customer's bike; he/she goes for a short ride, says "Yes -- I'll take it". Or, he/she says "Let me try the shorter/taller/with wings/without wings model", and THEN they buy.

You wouldn't have to bring a truckload of stock with you -- the customer would know right there, on the spot, what to order from you. (Or, you could bring the truckload of products and drive it home empty.)

Like shooting fish in a barrel...

Everyone has great suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming! The more feedback we receive the better we can serve you at CCR.

I am leaning toward bringing a sampling of the LT screens for test rides and trial, and then taking orders to ship after the rally. This eliminates a lot of the logistical hassle of shipping your current windscreen home, or shipping your new windscreen home, etc.

It looks like I need to bring a good amount of saddlebag liners, top case bags, headlight guards, and such.

As long as you're here on the forum, I'd like to take the opportunity to let the public know about, and to thank you for, being there for CCR by donating merchandise for the Silent Auction. Everyone should know those vendors who support what we at CCR do best, help each other to help each other!

I think it would be a good idea for you to attend as a vendor with a range of samples for people to order. If they could try them out, even better! Not having to arrange for shipping would be a plus, even though we usually make some kind of arrangements for shipping stuff home from CCR.

We look forward to seeing you there!

There were great with me at the BMW RA Ralley in Shelbyville TN. I ended up taking three shields out to my LT in the parking lot to try out. My buddy held them in postion while I sat on the bike. Finally settled on a Type 2 / -4 with wings. If I would of ordered through the website I would of sent at least two back! FedEX was there and shipped my standard 05 shield back home for a whooping $8.00. Saved me alot of aggrivation. It is a great product...excellent quality.

Having a good selection of demo windshields on hand will be a big plus. But be aware, some people won't want to take them off and give them back once they've tried them and realize what a huge difference it makes. I imagine you'll sell out of pretty much whatever you can bring out, even the demo units.

I got on my bike with a new Cee Bailey windshield the other day and road her home in the rain. Amazing is about the right word. That curve really works at throwing the water over your head. A wet wind tunnel?

Love your product and can't wait to shake your hand at CCR. I bought a -4 and will buy a -2 from y'all at the venue.

Dayam - no wonder!! Now I know why Toad looks like it's been painted CALICHE!! I picked Toad up from Hank the same day you rescued Barbara. I shoulda known the rain gods woulda been buzy the day you ride!!

Why? NO, not the 'shake your hand' thang --- the -2? You gonna switch 'em out depending on the season, or whether one/two up, or when one gitz dirty, or what?? :D BTW - did you git the one with the built-in side wings, or no?

You know, I had one of them Cee Baileys oncet. I think Swanzy got it for me. Can't remember now why I don't have it anymore!! It wuzn't the flip model, so I 'think' it wuz the side buffeting that bothered me --- maybe I oughta try one of them winged ones. Hold my place in line at Cee's booth, willya??

It would be nice to see the windscreens next to each other to determine which one I should have bought. Hopefully I guessed right. :)

Okay it is decided. I will be there with our windscreens for everyone to try out. Just made my reservations as an attendee, so you all will have to put up with me during non-vendor times also. The response to the poll has been great, and I look forward to meeting everyone at CCR! :D

If you have a specific size / tint / style that you know you want, you can let me know here. I will make sure that I bring these for people that want to pick them up or have them installed at the rally.

Otherwise, I will be bringing samples of the screens, and allowing test rides to find out which one you want. After the rally we will ship a new non-sample screen to you. This helps us to be more efficient in our production, and it will get you exactly the screen you want.

Also, the sample screens will be available for purchase at the rally, but will not be available for pickup until Friday afternoon.

I'm not sure what size I need nor the tint. What info do you need cuz I'm buying one either way. Would prefer to have it put on at the CCR and ship my OEM back home.
thanks

If I knew I would tell! I'll have to see them. I'm 5'6". I want the wind and rain off of me and the wife! I have a 2003 LT with the stock (pitiful) shield. Can' see anything when it rains and at night.

I like the height of the stock 03 windshield when is all the way up. I have to lower it when it rains so I can see.

BTW, what is the cost? Do the prices differ? Just asking.

You all should know that I had several PMs back and forth with Ivan at Cee Bailey, as a result of this thread. He was very helpful, and replied to PMs promptly. He helped me determine which model and size would work for me. I may not be at CCR, but I hope to be placing an order for a real windshield very soon.

Thanks Ivan.

I echo Jay's comments...

Thanks for donating to the Silent Auction.....

I really like my CEE BAILEY with Wings for my LT... the way to go for keeping the wind buffing off you and your passenger...

See you at Chateau Elan...

I think UPS should also be a sponsoring vendor, seriously!:thumb:
People buying new windshields (or more than 1) could ship back the old unit (and the 2nd windshield they bought) and drive away with the new CB #2 installed.
I'd say that CB should bring a truckload of shields and expect to sell them all and then take additional orders rather than just taking orders to ship later. I am sure that riders will want they new CB right then (How do you spell instant gratification???:D ).
I think "Brown" would have a lot to contribute to CCR even though they are not an accessories vendor. We do use them a lot to ship/receive after market products. My $.02! :yeah:

I'm interested in a new windscreen and I'll be willing to wait until CCR if Cee Bailey is going to attend. I agree with others that having various models available for demostration would assist those ready to purchase. When a decision has been made, please let us know early so I can save my ducuts.

I would ask that you bring a large selection to sell and install, allowing people (like me) to ship the old one home in original box. Nothing like being able to have a new windshield and use it, too (kinda like having cake (or a new BMW) and eating/riding it, too!!!)
