My wife and I dropped by the hotel on our way back from a day trip to Atlanta on Saturday. The Inn was hosting a junior golf convention (in the rain) and it was pretty busy. We did not go into the winery or the spa but walked through the hotel. The lunch buffet was $17 each so we passed but we found a family-owned pizza restaurant across I-85 that has free wireless internet, so that was worth finding. There is a Subway in the same shopping center. There is a Publix (I think it was) shopping center right outside the Inn gates that probably has a deli. I figure the more money I save on meals the more I'll have for necessities like CCR t-shirts and farkles for the bike.

The Inn and conference center are very nice, and the winery and spa are a short walk away. The equestrian center is on the other side of the property; we're looking forward to checking that out as well.

I belong to a professional association that holds an annual seminar; the consultant that provides management assistance for our association told me that she had booked a seminar for another group at Chateau Elan and they really enjoyed it. The only complaint was that there were no other attractions close to the property (like other golf courses, beaches, etc.). That won't be a problem for LT riders, of course, as long as there are ROADS.

... but not right outside the Chateau Elan gates, Joe. Heading north toward Dahlonega is about a 1 hour ride - then the twisties start! NBD - but the CCR person who wrote that Chateau Elan was IN the northeast GA mountains must be a politician.
