lets format now Glad to have found this site and my name is Phl Morris. I live in Nova Scotia and ride the magnificent R1200RT.My best friend just bought a 1200 LT this past week and we expect to do a lot of riding being retired and all. I'll get a profile set up and hope to meet many of you at Vermont this year. BTW, the 1200rt is flawless....Phil :bmw:

Phil,

Welcome, Hope you enjoy your new ride - post a picture of the RT when you get a chance. Also fill in your profile a little so that we may know who we're talking with when you post.

I'm a new member, too. Riding an older, lowered R1100RT and loving it. I'm just now getting the experience needed to start doing real trips, not just day or weekend trips. I'm quite excited, but am not happy with my dim lights.. Not that I plan on being out at night, but sometimes things happen and you get caught. I don't know what kind of bulbs are on the bike, but wonder if they don't work well since the bike is as low as it can possibly go. My husband has adjusted the lights as much as he can (anymore and my brights will be shining in the trees), and is going to find out if better bulbs can be put on the bike. Any suggestions?

We're also looking forward to more traveling. My husband recently retired, and I hardly ever work (only shen it's convenient for me, which isn't very often).

Welcome, Phil and Ally.

Holy cow I envy you retired and near-retired folks, able to go where and when you want. I've had my LT since September and haven't taken an overnight trip yet. Hopefully that changes later this year when my wife (a teacher) is off for the summer.

You'll find TONS of information here about K bikes and R bikes. Start searching and begin reading. Ally, there are some other sites more specific to the R models. Others here can tell you what those are.

Ride safe.

Is your name really Phillip Morris?

Welcome to the list! Would love to hear ride reports from your wonderfully remote area. You're both on great bikes.

Hi RT, yes it is my REAL name, only spelled with one L. Our Atlantic Sport Touring Riders host a rally on the Cabot Trail the 3rd week-end of June each year. Great time and one of Canada's nicest rides' We have mountains on one side of the road and the Magnificant Atlantic ocean on the other. Wish you all could make it up some year. NS also put out a motorcycle only tourist book each year naming where to stay and eat and all our scenic roads mapped out. If any would like a book I'D be happy to send you one. Phil Morris

I've bicycled all over your province, but since I took up motorcycling after I moved out here to California, I haven't had the pleasure of exploring there, yet, on the motorized version. Now that I have an LT, I can imagine making it out there some day.
