Congrats Dave... I remember receiving that same e-mail. It won't be long now and you will get all of your official paperwork.
I wore my IBA T-shirt to the motorcycle show in Detroit, and a few guys stopped me and shook my hand. Makes it all worth it.
Good job!

Nice pics, Dave.
Just curious, what did you need the Unigo for? I find that on serious LD rides I tend to only carry exactly what I need to cover various weather conditions, and maybe one change of clothes. Everything else stays home, including the trunk.

Just curious, what did you need the Unigo for?
The trip out to Munson's and back was originally planned so I could pickup the Uni-Go I purchased from him.
The distance was right for the SS1000 straight through to Grapevine.
So the Uni-go was the excuse to do some riding http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

That's right. I remember you talking about that before. I thought maybe it was a huge auxiliary fuel tank. :D

Hello Guys,
I am curious, what makes that small trailer stay semi virtical? I am presuming that there is not a side stand on it, is it the hitch mechinism?
I aint never seen a trailer like that in Ireland.
And what kind of a hitch do you fit to the lovely K?
Oh, and how much does such a setup cost?

The hitch is a universal joint. It will swivel side to side and up and down, but can't rotate. Your bike's sidestand supports the UniGo. My hitch came from UniGo, but there are also after market hitches.
Take a look at the UniGo here (http://www.schoolhousemcacc.com/)

Ever time another rider joins us in the IBA, I'm reminded of the scene from Animal House:
"I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part".
"We're just the guys to do it".
Congrats Dave, well done! http://tinyurl.com/7q3sg

The trailer is a Uni-Go the Hitch is from Dauntless Motors (http://www.dauntlessmotors.com/bmwk1200lt_hitch.htm).
I have hitch adapters for both style trailers.
I have a traditional two wheel trailer I built (http://www.davedragon.org/photos/bmw/trailer/pics.asp)and pull as well as the Uni-Go.
The Uni-Go, when properly loaded, tracks so well you don't know it back there.
