Well, my little LT purchase of 2 weeks ago just keeps getting better and better, I think. When I was having the Metz 880's replaced with BS 020's yesterday, the shop ran my VIN. Seems that the bike was last sold as a CPO (BMW Certified Pre-Owned) bike, and it still has warranty available through July of this year.

Anyone have experience with BMW CPO bikes? Like if that warranty is transferrable to me? And whether I will now be able to purchase an extended warranty "prior to the BMW warranty expiring"?

Thanks,
Tom

Under the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty the warranty goes with the VIN of the bike. Doesn't make any difference how or who it sold through. You can change the bike registration with BMW by simply filling out the change of ownership card in the bike manual or the dealer can do it for you. Also any dealer can put the VIN into the BMW computer and print you a history sheet of the bike. Extended waranties are not sold by BMW itself. There are several companies that sell these and you can buy them at anytime but they are very expensive. Your dealer can help you with this.
