Has Anyone Out There This Sunday Am Had Any Experience In Changing Out The Rear Brake Lever On The Klt.
I Have The 06 Model And Needing To Go To The Extended Rear Brake Lever. I've Been In There Twice Trying To Get The Large Bolt Backed Off Of The Washer That Holds The Big Spring. Sucker Won't Budge.
Is It A Left Hand Turn As Normal Or For Some Reason Is It A Right Hand Turn To Remove It? Does Not Look Like Much Of A Job If I Could Only Get That Bolt Out.
Thought That Some Of You Guys That Have The Maintiance Manual's Or Cd's Out There Might Chime In And Give A Little Info.
Any Hints, Or Just Leave It Alone And Let The Dealer Handle It.
Thanks For Any Replies

I don't know if this will help or not, as I have never removed one. I just looked in my maintenance manual and it says that bolt gets tightened to 41 NM and has loctite 243. It doesn't mention anything about left hand threads, so I would assume it's the loctite causing you problems.

Not a master mechanic, so I won't try and give you any advice, hopefully someone will chime in with more info, but I hate to see someone trying to work on something and need information to move on. Been there done that before...

Good luck,

Randy

Just use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the bolt then use slow pressure to remove it. The trick is to soften the loctite.
