Who would like me to do the school in Bryson City??? It is a lot of work, cones, measuring, certificates, teaching. Not that I do not enjoy it, but like to get feel if you want it? Let me know.

Are you still planning on the "Slow School"? I've read so many good things about the Slow School, I hope it's a go. But it doesn't look like there is a lot of interest, only 7 replies out of 40 or so registered to go. What is the minimum number you need to sigh up?

Can you provide more info/details, please?
"Slow School" -- what is it?
Is this something to be done at STC for Riders II?

Is this something to be done at STC for Riders II?Howard, last year John offered LT Slow School the same time and place where we held Spring Training Camp.. While is wasn't sponsored by STC, because of liability issue, John provided the training and course over two days, several folks took advantage of having the opporunity to do LT Slow School and Spring Training Camp during the same days...also the training company, which John is instructor provided the registration and insurance and such.. for a cost per rider.

I secured the parking lot at a local supermarket and John handled the sign up for LT slow school and provided the training along with his wife helping... a great school and was enjoyed by everyone that signed up with John.

I contacted John again this year for the same arrangement, however John had some schedule problems, but in a post a few weeks ago it seemed that he was trying to work out the details to come again and teach the class and offer LT School School...

Maybe some others that took the course will chime in here and tell their experiences...

I hope that John can work out the details and have the class again, this will give us and attendees two opporunities to take a riding seminar, Susan Galpin will be offering a seminar also "Think Quick Be Safe"...

See the thread about Susan Galpin (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4783)

Spring Training Camp for Riders (http://www.stcforriders.com/) for all the combined information.

John is a 12 Year Motor Training Officer with the Tallahassee PD.
He competes in the Motor Officer Rodeo's at the highest levels.
The Slow School training exercises come from the Motor Officer training program and are demanding as well as one heck of a lot of fun!
John's instruction is Professional, enlightening and Entertaining.
He can put the LT through it's paces at speeds you won't believe with a level of accuracy that is remarkable.
Slow speed handling maneuvers such as the Iron Cross, and 140 degree turn from a dead stop with and obstacle 5 feet in front of you, Braking exercises that demonstrate max-performance braking, Step over turns that simulate shifting traffic lanes, short radius turns that have you dragging the pegs through 180 degrees while hitting the proper entry, apex and exit points while accelerating, etc, etc.
This just scratches the surface.
I have had the MSF Advanced course a couple of times and regularly practice on my own.
When I left that parking lot after John's instruction I was a much more confident and competent rider.

I will do it next year, in fact I bought a 7x16 enclosed trailer to transport, motorcycle and cones. Not just for that, but had the LT bootcamp in thought. Have fun and we will be thinking about you guys up there.
