I got it up today!

For every newbie like me who have whined how hard the pre '05 bikes are to get up on the center stand- take heart!

I bought my bike in April of last year and have never had her on the center stand until today. While hanging out at my local motorcycle accessory shop, a few Wingers came by to oogle my LT. As I sang her praises, I lamented that I could not get her up on the Center stand. These guy laughed at me and showed me how easy it really was.

I must have read every single post on how to get it up. It took someone knowledgable about large tourers how to do it. If your still struggling, get thee to a the CCR or Spring Training Camp to show you how it's done.

Not to worry, I've learned the hard way! I've dropped her four times.

The worst was when I dropped her at the start of rally ride in front of approx. Harley guys. I came off the curb fine, but I had to stop. I put my left leg down fine but I was on an uneven rode and when I went to put my right leg down, I couldn't find the ground. Right down she went with my wife on the back!

The last time was right at the edge of my driveway. I thought I had the sidestand down. Went to dismount and she fell right on top of me!

Very embarrassing!

Some of us learn particular things better by seeing it done than reading about it. In your case it appears you could have read till you are blue in the face and to no avail. See it done one time and you are good to go. Just a learning style I guess.
