I have had exceptional service from Western!
They replaced my rear drive in Nashville, when it failed on the way to CCR Gatlinburg. The service manager there was amazed, and said he had never had such an easy transaction with a service contract before.
I also had a vacuum leak once, and Western paid for the dealer to replace ALL the seals, gaskets, and crankcase vent tubes related to the throttle bodies/injectors. Came to nearly $600 with labor.
The most amazing thing though, was that several months later I tore my engine down to see why I was using oil so badly, and discovered broken piston ring lands on all four pistons. Most likely from the vacuum leak that had been misdiagnosed in Little Rock, and I rode it home to San Diego and a few days after getting home until my dealer could look at it (when the vacuum leak was fixed).
When I found the broken pistons, I called Western, and they asked me to get it to my dealer so that the service manager there could evaluate it. I trailered the bike (Head off and pistons removed) to the dealer, Western sent a adjuster out, and when he and the service manager agreed it was a covered item, Western paid for the parts, even though I was doing the work myself! That was around $1200! The only stipulation was that I was doing the work and the dealer would not be guaranteeing it I had to ride the bike 10,000 miles before any further piston related damages would be covered.
I did put ALMOST 10,000 miles on it, but unfortunately totaled the bike. I was really wanting to see how long I could make that engine last.:(
For my approximately $800 contract cost, nearly $3000 dollars was paid out. And I still had 3 years to go on the contract when I totaled the bike.
I highly recommend Western when it is available. Dealer only though, they don't sell direct that I know of.

Do you know if your contract covered the ABS system?
